True Love

This week (Easter Sunday) my home church in WA introduced a new song to the congregation. First time through the paster had us listen to the song and meditate on the words and meaning of true love. True love in today's society is mostly regarded as not much more than a fairy tale - something that doesn't exist and only leads to heartache and disappointment. As I listened to the words I came to the conclusions (via Holy Spirit prompting) that Jesus' love for us is a true love. Not just that it is true as in holy and just but true love of fairy tales. We are Christ's bride and his love is perfect and true. He desires us, no matter how often we stumble or stray - no matter what mistakes we make beforehand.

He will never leave us, He will never turn way or betray us, and most importantly He will always love us. Not just love as we humans tend to think of it, but love with all the flaws and doubts removed. Perfect love - True love.

True Love
Phil Wickham

Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Search your heart you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The Earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt The Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Now, Jesus is alive

Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died
