Three to get deadly

Well work is quite the experience. Premier Graphics is apparently the place to work this summer. When I walked through the front door I already knew at least a dozen people; most from Ferndale and a few from Bellingham. I have a 5 second job that I do for 8 hours a day five days a week, sometimes more sometimes less depending on what's breaking down. I get to scoop piles of unbound, uncut agendas off a conveyer belt and place them in slots for Phil to cut. That is pretty much what I do all day. Sometimes I get to sweep... wheee! But at least they're paying me to do it. I really like the people I work with so that makes it all worthwhile. Even though all of us really think our jobs suck we have fun making fun of the orders and watching the machines break down. What's highly amusing however is Locan and a few other of the guys put together a little song and dance routine about Premier. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen at a work place. That and the weekly $2 BBQ make working a Premier completely worth it - well that and the pay check.

Tomorrow (June 27th) is Michael and mine's year anniversary. It feels strangely odd and normal to have been going out for a year. Odd because it has gone so quickly an I am so happy with him and normal because it feels comfortable and right. This is a good thing. There are a few difficulties that we are working out, but they don't have to do with us personally, but with people outside our relationship. Even though we're dealing with that, we learn more and more about each other and the more I see, the more I love, respect, and admire him.

Two for the dough

I'm on a total Stephanie Plum and Flogging Molly binge. In the past 6 days I've read 10 Stephanie Plum novels http://www.evanovich.com/ and the first two chapters of the 11th book which is coming out sometime this month. Hurray! I must say that Flogging Molly - an Irish punk rock folk music band - has me completely captivated. I love the way they mesh traditional sounds and instruments with contemporary rock music and style. A few bands have tried this sounds but haven't been able to pull it off, Flogging Molly however has done and is doing an amazing job.

Yesterday I saw Batman Begins with my dad and my sister; it was so good! I went in expecting to see something on par or slightly better than the old batman movies. This was so much better in every respect than the ones that have been done in the past. Christian Bale has got to be, by far, the best Batman yet. I am going to have to see the movie another time or two. I know that it's being played on the Imax theater down in Seattle. I'll have to get a group of people to go down and watch it with me.

I finally got a job; I start Monday morning bright and early. Wheee! I'm going to working at Premier Graphics for a week as a binder and then transfer over to shipping. I'm excited, it doesn't pay much but it's always at least 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime. I'll be working 5 days a week 8 hours a day. ugh. But I'm just happy that it's a job that pays me more than minimum wage.

Oh, for those of you who read this please pray for Michael and his family. His uncle - his father's younger brother - died Friday morning of a heart attack. Most of his family left this afternoon for the funeral. Also one of the guys in his class, Jeff, at BTC died last week, and nobody knows what happened or anything. So please pray for him and the families of the people who died.

525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?

One for the Money

Well, it sure has been a while, hasn't it? This last weekend has been a lot of fun, a little stressing, but overall very good. On Friday I decided that I was sick of the way my room was and decided to get rid of my bed (it was a bunk bed that had once belonged to my sister and I) make a new one, and reorganize my room. Needless to say it took all day with me frantically running around trying to get everything done and making sure that my grandfather stayed out of it. *shudders* I dread to think what would have happened to my new bed is he had gotten a hold of more than just the headboard (which I had to re-do once he was finished with it) *sighs* oh well.

Saturday I went to SOL - Hurray! - for the fist time in months. It was good to be there and to do the dramas again. After that Michael and I went to the Bellingham Scottish Highland Games, ironically held in Ferndale. It was so much fun! We sat and watched a bunch of burly men pitch a 20lbs bag of straw up and over a bar 20 some odd feet above their heads with a pitch fork, and toss the caber. Now that was cool. We wandered about for a could of hours listening to the bands play and looking into the vender stalls. Later on Michael and I had a lot of fun with strawberries, we looked like we had started a war - us being covered in red juice and all. Food fights can be a lot of fun. hehehe...

This Sunday, today, was the church annual picnic and it poured down rain the entire time, but it was a lot of fun. We moved it indoors and had to keep the kids from taking and eating everything they could pit their fingers on, which is a lot of food that they would never eat. I love my church, it makes me happy. Something I'm also very excited about for tonight is bowling. Yes, that's right. Bowling. Every Sunday night, or at least most Sunday nights Michael and I and a few others go bowling for a dollar a game and have a great time abusing each other and harassing everyone. One of my favorite Sunday traditions.
